Waking up to Paradise. What a great way to begin my day. I loved opening my eyes in the morning. While my family was still sleeping I quietly made my coffee and stepped onto the deck and took in the perfect view while giving thanks to Mother Nature and that Huge rock across the water.
The Le Meridien had just enough equipment to keep you on top of your game. I always travel with GAIAM resistance bands and a Nike lightweight training shoe.
Lunch was our favorite food experience. Everything was homemade and the presentation was always creative. Arugula salad w/paramasian & squash flavored quoina with Rose'

Our family spent a week at dinner time watching the videos and reading the book together. It was the best way to accomplish our goal, our son had homework, so after he finished I made dinner and listened to the video while my husband and son watched and took notes. It was truly a team effort and a great way to retain the information. When it was time to take our written test we felt prepared. We then spent a whole day in a pool going over everything we learned. Now were ready to do our open water dive. I am glad we did it together, it made the outcome very rewarding once we were certified in Bora Bora.
This was our first dive out of four. 30 feet under and ready for action Vitamin A Swimwear. Oneil
Our dive master was always checking in with us. "OK" says it all. Bye the way my dive gear worked out great. Cressi mask, snorkel, fins. The fins are so easy to put on and take off. The booties - a "must have" perfected the whole comfort experience. The water temperature was 80 degrees- Perfect! . I wore the wet suit jacket for protection from the gear.
I used a GO PRO camera for the first time and I loved it. It's water proof and lightweight & takes great shots. We were surronded by black trigger fish in this shot. That's my husband & son in the shot.
After our fourth and final dive, we swam to the top and as you can see A heart awaits us. We are now Padi certified. Once again I am a big fan of the "GO PRO"
I never planned on swimming with sharks….EVER. But sometimes something comes over you and you just say "YES". Our Moana guides- were quite funny, A bit like the characters at Disneyland or right out of the Aquaman series. We spent half of the day with Moana tours, all you need are mask, fins and snorkel and if you don't have that they are provided. A boat picks you up from your Resort and away you go to see what life is like in the land of "Nemo." For the first plunge you literally feel like you are living in an aquarium. We saw so many vibrant fish and living organisms, your guides are playing with a moray eel as if were the family dog. We then jump aboard and we're off to visit the Black Tip Shark and the Manaray's who we're told some of them have their barbs, some don't… oh well. As soon as you hop off the boat you are surrounded by Manaray's and 3 to 4 foot Black Tips. Quite intimidating, but it all seems to be "OK". I felt like I was a kid again, scared but exhilarated. Next stop… The Lemon Sharks. When you first look into the water you see the sharks just circling the boat they are between 8 and 12 feet. Of course the JAWS themes song is wreaking havoc in your head. Our guides jump in and before you know it so are we. It's about 30 feet deep. These guides Immediately grab the top fin of the the Lemon Shark and off they go. "Aquaman" #1 looks up at me, offers his hand, I grab it and he pulls you down and places your hand on the back of the shark and away you go…I've never held my breath so long, it was thrilling to say the least. My husband and my son rode the sharks too. Once again, I love a "GOPRO" we captured all the moments. I'm not sure what came over me under the sea… but i'm glad it did. This trip was a magical vacation for all of us.
We love to kayak and they were available at all times at no charge.
Our instructor JP from BORA DIVING CENTER was a fantastic teacher. If you have kids, you know how valuable a great teacher is. I was a little nervous in the beginning, once our training began I realized we were in good hands. He was strict and by the book. Worked for us! It was really a magical and beautiful adventure. The above Sun Protection Lotions are always on hand while traveling to the snow or sun, oh.. and everyday life. On this trip to Bora Bora I discovered EVOA. Not only is it healthy for your body but for our oceans and all the incredible sea life who live in it, and I love the smell. Tizo stays on in the water for hours, and gives your face a smooth look while protecting it. We are a sun loving family, and I am religious about finding what works for the face & body.
