You know the saying “Less is more” well it’s so true, especially when it comes to the clothing that’s collected over the years..you know, things you just won’t or can’t let go of unless you have a little assistance?? The older I get the less I need and having your favorite items that “spark joy” aka Marie Kondo, makes getting ready so simple and rewarding. Meet Style Maven Sherry Farrahi - closet organizer (guru) and personal shopper. Not only did she organize the chaos she created space that I’d never noticed before. Letting go of what we really don’t need and haven’t worn in years feels so good and being able to open your closet door and know where everything is “takes the stress out of getting dressed” says Sherry, my closet guru.
Before (see below) these shelves and drawers were packed and my drawers were a mess. I haven’t been through them in a while and because she gives you homework; yes the good kind, I cleared out a ton of items that I’ve had hanging on the racks for years. See below for the link to donate your clothing to a great cause.
So much space was created from letting go of clothing and inverting the racks. I never thought to do that!
She removed all the boxes underneath and replaced the middle shelf with baskets
Having the linen organizers for my belts and scarves motivates me to replace them the same way. She continued the linen organizers for my workout pieces and socks.
I have been collecting Hermès scarves for over 20 years and now I can see all of them and they’ll be in much better shape for when they’re passed along someday. How refreshing, now everything has a place, when our interior space is cluttered so are we. Removing the clutter creates space and it feels quite freeing. Having Sherry inspired me to declutter all of my drawers; makeup, hair, under the sink, etc… it’s shocking to look at what we hang onto over the years that we just don’t need or it no longer #sparksjoy.
Buster has spent just as much time in this closet as I have. If you live in Los Angeles or the southern California area I can’t recommend Sherry enough. You can follow Sherry on Instagram for wonderful style tips and motivation to clean out your space and get organized! Getting organized is a great way to begin the new year by clearing out the clutter and start a new! It looks like we’re all going to have a little more time to do so.
Thank you, Sherry, super grateful for your help.
xx, Janet
