On a family vacation to beautiful Hawaii the hotel offered ukulele classes, sounded like fun to me. After and hour long class and 4 chords later I was hooked. It has the best "feel good" sound when your strumming those strings looking out at the ocean. On returning home to Los Angeles my husband and son gave me one for Mothers Day. I went on YouTube and found endless players patiently waiting to teach you . You can have your own private teachers who start from 10 years old and up! Every favorite song you can think of is there. As you can see in the photo I have a great audience. Have fun strumming!

STOP-FERMATI! You too can become conversational in your favorite language. We were on our way to Italy for our family vacation. Whenever I travel I always learn a few words in the country we are visiting. I never spoke a language when I was young, I tried a few of the known courses out there but never really connected with any one in particular. I was googling around one day and I found Dr.Pimsleur. An audio learning technique . All I needed was an iPhone, iPod, earphones & a good attitude. I began listening in my car, in the grocery store, walking our dog and waiting in the carpool line. It was incredible how fast I began to speak & understand. The Pimsleur approach suggest only 30 minutes a day, but I live in Los Angeles so I spend a lot more time in my car than that! We all learned to speak our first language by listening, so I thought there must be something to that. It helps to study too, but who has time to study in today's world? Give it a try, why not...It keeps your brain stimulated and that's important. Ciao,
